  • Community Walkers will assemble at 8:00 a.m. in the morning at Leimert Park to register for a community Walk called “In My Shoes™.” (Walk will start at 9:00am sharp)
  • During the “In My Shoes™” Community Walk (approximately 2.6 miles one way; 5.2 miles in total is estimated to take 108 minutes or 1 hour 48 minutes for the average walker). The walkers will have a chance to record their thoughts and/or take pictures of their experience for follow-up. “In My Shoes™” focus groups will dialogue immediately after the community walk.
  • Prior to the “In My Shoes™” focus groups, a panel of speakers will share insight on various topics impacting the community. At this time the plan for the next steps will be detailed. The next steps consist of galvanizing the movement across all urban communities. Opening platforms to have “In My Shoes™” discussions about location issues and its impact on the residents there. This will be a quarterly initiative.
  • One hour breakout sessions will take place. (Approximately 11:30 am-12:30 pm)
  • Each “In My Shoes™” focus group will consist of 30 people and a trained moderator to facilitate semi-structured dialogue. (12:30 pm – 1:30 pm focus groups/breakout session)
  • Juneteenth Festival and vendor fair is open to the public from 11am – 6pm
